TANCET MBA 2024 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years program from a recognized institution.
  • To be eligible for the exam, aspiring candidates need to have a minimum of 50% marks for general category and 45% for reserved categories at the undergraduate level.
  • Students who are in the final year of their undergrad program can also apply for this exam.

TANCET MBA Syllabus:

There are five sections in TANCET MBA entrance exam.

  1. Business Analysis
  • There are 20 questions usually associated with two passages in this section.
  • This section evaluates the applicant’s ability to critically analyse the given business scenario to make business decisions for the given situations.
  • Business scenarios are given as passages with about 500 to 1200 words. There would be around 10 questions associated with each passage.
  • There are four answer choices for each question in this section and the answer choices of the Business Analysis section remain the same for all the questions.

 

  1. Reading Comprehension
  • There are 20 questions with 3 or 4 passages in this section.
  • This section assesses the reader’s ability to understand and interpret information from a given text, evaluating skills such as critical thinking and inference.
  • The skill tested is one’s proficiency in extracting meaning and drawing conclusions from written passages.
  • The passages in TANCET MBA reading comprehension covers diverse range topics such as Business, Economics, Science, Social issues, History, Politics, Environment, etc.

 

  1. Problem Solving
  • There are 20 questions in this section with 4 answer choices for each question.
  • This section assesses the skill on solving mathematical problems learnt in high school.
  • Basic math concepts are tested in TANCET MBA Problem Solving section. Engineering level math, Calculus, Trigonometry topics are not tested in this section.
  • Topics tested on TANCET MBA Problem Solving section are as follows: Percentage, Ratio, Averages, Mixtures, Mean, Median, Mode, Range, Rates, Number system (LCM, HCF, Squares, etc), Quadratic equations, Exponents and Roots, Profit and Loss, Simple interest, Discounts, Probability, Permutation and Combination, Algebra word problems.
  • Calculators are not allowed in TANCET MBA.

 

  1. Data Sufficiency
  • This section has 20 questions with four answer choices for each question.
  • The structure of the data sufficiency question is, a problem followed by two statements with some information which may or may not be helpful to solve the given problem. The two statements are followed by four answer choices which mentions as whether the given statements are sufficient to solve the given problem.
  • This section assesses the candidate’s ability to analyze and determine the adequacy of provided statements for solving a problem. It evaluates candidate’s critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • The knowledge of basic mathematics and use of day-to-day facts are required to answer this section.
  • TANCET MBA Data Sufficiency questions have same set of answer choices for all the questions.
  1. Verbal Ability
  • This section has 20 questions with four answer choices for each question.
  • This section tests the knowledge on written English, basically grammar rules and vocabulary.
  • TANCET MBA Verbal ability section have questions such as, Spotting the error in the given sentence, Synonyms and Antonyms, Sentence Correction, Fill in the blank with the correct word (preposition), etc.
